Article 2.01-kdb-0001

The NLSS Gateway is designed to be connected to the NLSS Cloud services offering with as little effort as possible.  Frequently, however, we find that there are some common issues which prevent this connection from working properly.

Hardware Affected: GW500, GW3000, GW4000, GW4500, GW5000
Software Affected: 3.1.30856 and higher

Connecting the NLSS Gateway to Cloud Services
First, read and understand the Cloud Services Technical bulletin (attached) with regard to Cloud Services Connections.

Ensure your gateway can get to the internet.  If your gateway is set up for DCHP, there is a good chance all the appropriate connection information is set.  If your gateway is configured for a static IP address (Configuration --> Global --> Gateways --> Wired Network), you must have a properly configured IP address, subnet mask, Default IP gateway, and DNS Server.   If any of these items are not correct, your gateway will not connect to Cloud Services.

If your gateway will still not connect

Firewalls capable of blocking outbound connections will likely block connections to Cloud Services if they have been configured to do so. Please check with your IT Administrator and see if they block any of the IP's and / or ports listed in the following KB article: http://j.mp/127rX7p

If your gateway has been recently Factory Reset, and it was previously connected to Cloud Services, you must use the same token to re-connect it to Cloud Services.  If you no longer have that token available, please contact support directly (support@nlss.com)
